320+ applications had rolled in for a web developer’s position and the hiring team was about to go through the huge pile of applications on the table. The manager came in with a big garbage bag, randomly grabbed about two thirds of the applications, threw them in the garbage bag, and announced to the hiring team, “Since luck is a factor in the software business, our company will not hire people with bad luck.”
